About me

Are you nervous every time you need to speak English at work or at home? Are you convinced that you make a lot of mistakes? Do you often not understand what the other person is saying?

I will help you learn spoken English and turn passive English skills into communication skills.
My name is Tatiana, and I will turn your ” not-so-great English” into an effective tool for communicating and achieving your goals.

My goal is to help adult learners of English find time to learn English, optimize their learning process, and consistently use English for self-expression so that communication in English becomes easier, more interesting, and more enjoyable.
When I’m not busy preparing for or teaching classes, developing training materials, or writing content for my readers, you can find me reading fantasy novels, watching TV shows or movies, or taking a walk in the city.

I used to teach English at three different universities, but I was annoyed that the curriculum was packed, but did not involve spoken English. or real communication and self-expression. I didn’t look forward going to work, si

I am based in Ukraine, in the city of Kropyvnytskyi (formerly Kirovohrad)

I graduated with honors from Kirovograd State Pedagogical University (Faculty of Foreign Languages, specialty: teacher of English and German).

I don’t remember any German anymore. I understand a little Spanish from what I picked listening to podcasts. I can also speak Russian.

In 2003-04, I traveled to the United States (California State University, Long Beach) on a Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP), where I attended classes to obtain classroom experience and apply it to my work.

I have 2 cats: Nelson and Bianca. They don’t let me get bored and often make me laugh.

Some of the former students and clients include pharmacists, IT specialists, attorneys, financial directors, pilots and aircraft technicians, CFOs, medical researchers, teachers, and models some of whom now live in the United States, Canada, and Australia.

Some of my favorite TV series are: Person of Interest, Homeland, Hell on Wheels, Luther, Doc Martin, Humans.

Freedom of self-expression in English is mainly due to the flexibility of your vocabulary and the right attitude to communication.

My “thing” is that I like to use movies and TV series as teaching material and a conversation starter. I have several movie workbooks, a group for movie lovers learning English, and a movie discussion club for learners of English. Of course, I also offer more traditional services (textbook-based or spontaneous conversation classes), but my passion is talking in English about great movies or TV shows.

Another one of my “tricks” is that I help you learn phrases rather than single words (I explain why this is better for you below).

Why do you need to focus on collocations in order to learn spoken English?

By studying collocations and language patterns in context, you will learn:

  • learn additional meanings of common words you think you already know (including phrasal verbs)
  • understand the difference between similar words, figure out the nuances of their use
  • “activate” common expressions and phrases by using them to express your thoughts
  • learn in the context of phrases and phrases, thus better understanding the meaning of what is said
  • get rid of your “favorite” mistakes that might have become a habit for you
  • become more aware of the use of tenses and articles (grammar) by seeing them in context with other words
  • notice how words are combined and use them more correctly in your speech.

What my students say

Learning English with Tetiana Bilokin
I was not sure how online classes would look like on Skype, but everything was great, it was a surprise for me. I like the actual conversations the most, as well as your explanations of how to do things correctly. Thank you for making me fall in love with English, I hated it at school. I am very happy that I came across you by pure chance.

Learning English with Tetiana Bilokin
There was a lot of useful information on the webinar. I found out how to write a summary in three sentences, what verbs to use in a CV, and much more. For those who are currently looking for a job, this is a step-by-step instruction on what to do (and not to do) when writing a resume, as well as how to make a resume “work”

Testimonial about the course, Olesia
I was incredibly lucky with my teacher, because I consistently wrote every day and got thorough feedback for everything, with detailed explanations. In short, I am very happy. My hands don’t shake anymore, when speaking English.
